Developer Advocate

The role
We’re hiring a developer advocate to help developers understand and use Orthogonal. You’ll write documentation, build examples and demos, answer technical questions, and bring developer feedback back to the product team. This is a full-time, in-person role in San Francisco.
What you'll do
- Write clear documentation and guides for Orthogonal’s SDK, MCP, and CLI
- Build example projects that developers can run and adapt
- Help developers troubleshoot integrations and answer technical questions
- Create demos, tutorials, and technical talks
- Learn where developers get stuck and turn that feedback into product changes
- Participate in developer communities and events
Who you are
- 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, developer relations, or technical education
- You’ve built software and can explain technical ideas clearly
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Experience with APIs and at least one modern programming language
- Comfortable reading code, debugging integrations, and building small applications
- Enjoy working directly with developers and helping them solve problems
- Comfortable working closely with a small team and changing priorities
Nice to have
- Developer relations, technical writing, or developer support experience
- Experience with API platforms, developer tools, or AI agents
- Open source contributions or experience maintaining a developer community
- Experience speaking at meetups or conferences
